John H. Bocock is a founder and Managing Director of Investment Management of Virginia.  Prior to the founding of the firm, Mr. Bocock was a Managing Director of Scott & Stringfellow Capital Management, Inc.  Mr. Bocock served as a Naval Special Warfare Officer with SEAL Team TWO from 1990 to 1993.   He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1986 and earned an M.B.A. from the Darden School at the University of Virginia in 1995.

Alexander H. Bocock is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a Portfolio Manager at Investment Management of Virginia. Prior to joining Investment Management of Virginia’s predecessor in 1998, Mr. Bocock served as an analyst and then marketing director with New Generation Research in Boston. Mr. Bocock graduated from Princeton University in 1990, earned his M.B.A. from the Darden School at the University of Virginia in 1998, and was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst designation in February 2000.

Gary T. Clark joined Investment Management of Virginia in January 2005.  He has thirteen years of investment experience, including previous positions as buy-side analyst, sell-side analyst, investment banker, and corporate treasury analyst.  In 2000, he was recognized by the Wall Street Journal as #1 in stock picking among 48 sell-side analysts covering the Secondary Oil Industry.  Prior to joining Investment Management of Virginia, Mr. Clark covered the energy sector as a Senior Analyst for The State Retirement System of Ohio.  He earned his undergraduate degree in 1992 from the University of Colorado, Cum laude, and is a CFA charter holder.

Henry George is a Managing Director of Investment Management of Virginia.  Prior to joining the firm in 1994, Mr. George served as Senior Vice President and Chief Investment Officer for Signet Asset Management.  With Signet for 27 years, he managed a broad array of portfolios for individuals, institutions, and foundations.  He is past President and Director of the Richmond Society of Financial Analysts and served as a Trustee of the Endowment Association of the College of William and Mary.  He is currently Treasurer and Board Member  of the Virginia Institute of Marine Science Foundation and Chairman of the Children's Home Society of Virginia Memorial Fund Board. Mr. George graduated from William and Mary in 1965 and continued his education at the University of Virginia where he received his M.B.A. in 1967.

Joseph C. Godsey, Jr., is a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager at IMVA.  He has over thirty years experience in the investment profession.  Joe spent seventeen years in trust banking, beginning as an investment analyst and finishing as Chief Investment Officer at Dominion Trust Company.  Thereafter, he founded and served as President of Godsey & Gibb and was a portfolio manager at Wealth Trust Kanawha Capital.  He earned his B.A. degree in Economics from the University of Virginia and his Master of Commerce degree from the University of Richmond.  He is a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Bradley H. Gunter is a founder and the President of Investment Management of Virginia.  Prior to the founding of the firm, Mr. Gunter was the President of Scott & Stringfellow Capital Management, Inc.  Mr. Gunter has had extensive experience dealing with foundations, endowments, and individuals in the area of charitable giving.  A member of Phi Beta Kappa, Mr. Gunter received a Ph.D. from the University of Virginia in 1969.

David Long is a Managing Director of Investment Management of Virginia.  Mr. Long has over 25 years experience as a professional money manager.  From 1969 to 1990, he served as President and principal owner of Capital Management Corporation in Richmond, Virginia.  In 1990, Mr. Long sold his interest in Capital Management Corporation and formed David M. Long, Ltd., a financial consulting firm.  Mr. Long joined the firm in 1994.  He graduated from Princeton University in 1964, is a Chartered Financial Analyst, and a member of the Richmond Society of Chartered Financial Analysts.

George J. McVey, Jr., is a founder and Managing Director of Investment Management of Virginia.  Prior to joining the firm, Mr. McVey worked for Goldman Sachs, managing assets on a discretionary basis for foundations and high net-worth individuals.  In addition to portfolio management, his special areas of concentration included asset allocation, single-stock risk management, and tax-efficient wealth transfer.  He earned his undergraduate degree at Princeton University, graduating with honors in 1986, and his M.B.A. at the Darden School of the University of Virginia. 

 

Thomas Neuhaus, CFA, CMT

Thomas Neuhaus is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a Portfolio Manager at Investment Management of Virginia.  Mr. Neuhaus graduated from the McIntire School at the University of Virginia in 1994. He was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 1999 and Chartered Market Technician designation in 2003.  Mr. Neuhaus served for three years in the Investment Banking division of Scott & Stringfellow and another three years as an equity analyst covering the Information Technology Sector with BB&T Capital Markets. 

 

William E. Sizemore, Jr., M.Ed.

William E. Sizemore, Jr. is a Managing Director of Investment Management of Virginia.  Prior to joining the firm in 2007, Mr. Sizemore served as a Vice President and Director of Research for Godsey & Gibb Associates, Inc. and has more than twenty-two years experience in the financial consulting business.  Before entering the financial industry, Mr. Sizemore was an educator and football coach, ending his coaching career at the University of Richmond, Virginia.  He earned his B.S. degree in Education with a specialization in mathematics and physical education from Bluefield State College, West Virginia in 1975.  He earned his M.Ed. in Administration and Supervision from Virginia State University in 1982.
